Rolf, of bluegrass phenomenon The Sieker Band, is sure to lead a master class that is both thoroughly educational and a great time. You will learn banjo set up, fancy licks, how to create interesting breaks, back-up banjo, rolls, scales and modes, theory and how to apply it, building your speed, arpeggios, various styles including Scruggs, single string, melodic, blues-melodic and chromatic, how to play banjo in a jam session, how to arrange a banjo tune, how to play in front of others, AND how to make a living playing the banjo! He recorded studio sessions with Ray Benson & Asleep At The Wheel, Kelly Willis, Dale Watson, Redd Volkaert, Trace Atkins, Rod Moag, Julie Chadbourne, Lantana and many others. His way of playing the banjo is highly influenced by the blues-melodic style of Bobby Thompson, one of the most requested studio musicians in the 60s, 70s and 80s in Nashville.
